Love you to the moon and back…Inspired by card

6.2014 moon and back

This card is inspired by the awesome Jennifer McGuire and is based on her post: http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2014/05/video-ink-splatter-new-hero-arts-discount-code-giveaway.html

I took some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and a blending tool to layer on some color to the white cardstock I used.

I think used my Derwent Inktense pencils to splatter on some more color. I love the Inktense pencils because they add a vibrant color to your project. I used a cheapy paint brush to splatter some of the color onto my card stock. I got the paint brush wet first and then rubbed the tip of the paintbrush to the tip of the pencils and then flicked the color onto the cardstock.

QUICK TIP:  Use a craft sheet or plastic placemat or some other surface that you can easily clean when you are done. This can definitely make a mess.  Also, I recommend doing a few trial runs to figure out the amount of water versus color you want to use. You can always use the trial pieces for other projects.

This is what it looked like when I finished. I used my heat tool to dry the color between applications so the color would not get muddy.

I then used my punch bunch MegaGiant (around 3 inches) circle punch and my Fiskars circle punch (around 2 inches). I didn’t have the exact punches that Jennifer used so I adapted it to the ones I had. I had a star punch that I used but you could easily use any die cut stars you have on hand. I used glitter paper from Recollections ( a Michaels’ brand) but you could use any glitter paper you have on hand.

I cut out the big circle and then cut into the big circle with the smaller one to make a moon shape. You could make the moon as full or crescent as you would like.

For my sentiment I used my computer to print it out. I found fonts that I liked together.  I printed out a bunch so I could make multiples of this card.

I simply adhered the elements to a standard size note card and added some yellow bling. I cut the sentiment into a banner shape and adhered the moon and sentiment with double sided adhesive so it popped off the page.

You could have so many different color combinations for this card and it will be unique every time.  There are a lot of elements but this was a pretty simple card to put together.
