I received my October Card Kit (my first one!) from Simon Says Stamp this week and unfortunately with working this week, I had to wait until today to play with it.
I chose the bigger coffee cup stamp and stamped it on the Basic Grey patterned papers that came in the kit. I fussy cut them out and then used a Sharpie to color the edges to get rid of the white raw edges from my cutting it out.
I used a piece of Bazzill brown (not sure the exact color) and then made a top folding card (4 1/4 X 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″) using the cream colored cardstock that came in the kit to adhere the brown piece onto it. I stamped and embossed the greeting using white Zing embossing powder. I cut a small strip from the patterned paper to add a bit of interest to the left side.
I then used foam dots to add dimension to the coffee cups. I filled in the “coffee” with a Distress Marker. I then used foam tape to pop the whole card front up off the card base. Finally I added a heart (from Doodlebug) using the Khaki Ink from Simon Says Stamp that came in the kit. I stamped it twice to get a totally filled in heart.
The inside of the card is stamped with the sentiment (You’re the Best!” that came in this stamp set.
Hope you enjoyed! I am looking forward to trying out new combinations with this kit soon!
Thanks for stopping by!
